A typical week
Race weekends are the short part. This is the work in between, built around riding and everything that makes him faster on the bike.
On the bike
The core of the weekAt SPN Academy each session starts with a briefing from coach Nico Ferreira: the lines, the braking points and what to work on that day. Then the riders go out and do it lap after lap. Track days on his R6 at larger circuits add the speed and distance a training track cannot.

Flat track
Bike controlSliding a dirt bike on a loose surface teaches throttle and rear-wheel control that carries straight over to the circuit.

Strength and conditioning
GymStrength work and Hyrox-style conditioning, so he can hold race pace and body position to the last lap.

Endurance
Road and runningLong rides on the road bike and regular runs build the aerobic base a race distance demands.

Recovery
Sleep and restRecovery is planned like training. His recovery and sleep kit comes from partners Hyperice, Manta Sleep and Lumie.
What a training week costs
Before the season startsRace weekends are what people see. The bills start long before them. Every week of training is paid for: the track, the coaching, the travel and the kit that wears out doing it.
Every week
- Track timeThree days a week
- Coaching with Nico Ferreira at SPN Academy
- Travel to training
- Gym
- Road bike hire for long rides
Wears out
- Training tyresA set about every two weeks
- Brakes
- BootsA new pair every two to three months
- Race leathersRepaired and replaced through the season
- Cycling kit
All of this comes before the first race. A technical partner can take on one line of it, from tyres to boots, with an official partner title. Product value counts towards a partnership level.
